I am thrilled to see that so many of you all are emailing for gift certificates and to book sessions for friends and family. But this year we decided to forego gift certificates and allowing surprise session booking (other than by immediate family included in the photos). Here's why.
1) I want to make sure that the gift recipient actually wanted a session with us. My style is simple, unposed, prop-free, extremely active, and it's not for everyone.
2) With the very limited number of sessions available during the year, we want to make sure everyone who would like a session has an equal chance to book one. In the past, we've left gift certificate holders without an available session to book so eliminating gift certificates was the best way for us to have a more accessible schedule for everyone.
3) COVID. I'm not always able to maintain social distance, especially in studio. Cue toddler running straight at my camera and falling into my lap lol! So the gift recipient may not feel comfortable being close to me, especially since they won't have a mask on while being photographed.
The best way to gift a session is simply to communicate your wish to the recipient making sure my photos are a good match for their style, location, schedule, and comfort level and then emailing me at email@example.com to set something up.
